Kip Lankenau Injured in Van Alstyne Plane Crash on Milam Road
Van Alstyne, Texas (July 4, 2020) – According to a local news source, a pilot was injured in a plane crash Friday morning near Van Alstyne.
The crash occurred around 9:45 a.m. July 3, on a corn field along Milam Road.
According to the report, the World War I military aircraft replica of a Sopwith 1½ Strutter clipped a tree and crashed into the middle of a corn field.
The pilot of the single-engine plane, Kip Lankenau, was airlifted to the hospital with a compound ankle fracture. The passenger, Bruce Kimme, was not seriously injured in the crash.
The authorities are investigating the crash.
