19-Year-Old Critically Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash on US 83 in Rio Grande City

19-Year-Old Critically Injured in Rio Grande City Three-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 83

Rio Grande City, Texas (February 12, 2020) – A 19-year-old was critically injured in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Rio Grande City, according to the police.

The crash took place on Tuesday, February 11, on U.S. Highway 83, in front of McCoy’s.

Police said the crash involved a red Chevrolet Avalanche, a brown Chevrolet Malibu, and a grey 18-wheeler.

The Malibu driver, a 19-year-old, was taken to McAllen Medical Center in critical condition.

The Avalanche driver, a 28-year-old, was taken to Starr County Memorial with minor injuries.

The 18-wheeler driver, a 42-year-old, didn’t sustain major injuries in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
