Driver Killed in Crash with 18-Wheeler on North Loop East in Northeast Houston

Man Killed in Northeast Houston 18-Wheeler Crash on North Loop East near Homestead Road

Houston, Texas (May 26, 2020) – One person was killed early Tuesday morning in a traffic collision involving an 18-wheeler in northeast Houston, according to authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 4:00 a.m. in the 7000 block of North Loop East near Homestead Road.

Police said a car was trying to get off the freeway, when the driver lost control and struck a parked 18-wheeler which was on the shoulder.

The driver of the car was killed in the crash. His name has not been released.

Authorities believe weather might have been a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
