Landon Baxley Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 64 in Van Zandt County

Landon Baxley ID’d as Driver Killed in Van Zandt County Crash on State Highway 64 near Myrtle Springs

Van Zandt County, Texas (July 7, 2023) – The driver who died following a two-vehicle crash on Monday evening in Van Zandt County has been identified as Landon Morgan Baxley, 17.

The deadly crash happened at around 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 3, on State Highway 64, about 1.5 miles north of Myrtle Springs.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said a 2005 Nissan Sentra, driven by Baxley, was facing westbound on the shoulder of SH 64 while a 2019 International Truck was traveling westbound.

The Nissan reportedly turned in front of the truck. Both vehicles ultimately collided.

Baxley was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the truck did not suffer any injuries.

No other details were provided.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
