Ruth Ponder ID’d as Woman Killed in Denison Pedestrian Accident on U.S. Highway 75 near Spur 503

Denison, Texas (July 12, 2022) – Authorities have identified the woman who died after she was struck by a vehicle late Saturday night in Denison as Ruth Ann Ponder, 70.

The deadly accident happened shortly before midnight, July 9, on U.S. Highway 75 near the Spur 503 interchange.

Police said Ponder was walking in the northbound lanes when she stepped into the path of a passing vehicle.

Ponder was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigators and was not intoxicated.

The police are investigating the crash.
