Larry Richardson Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on FM 2625 in Harrison County

Harrison County, Texas (September 11, 2023) – The man who died following a two-vehicle collision last week on Thursday in Harrison County has been identified as Larry E. Richardson, 66, of Elysian Fields.

The tragic wreck happened at about 7:40 p.m. Thursday, September 7 on Farm-to-Market Road 2625 at FM 31, five miles southeast of Marshall.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Jerid S. Newby, 34, of Kilgore, was heading northbound on FM 31 while Richardson was stopped on Farm-to-Market Road 2625 facing westbound at the intersection of FM 31.

Richardson failed to yield the right of way at a stop intersection and hit Newby’s vehicle.

Richardson was taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day in the morning.

Newby was not injured.

No further details were immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
