Latasha Leann Sims Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on US-175 in Kemp

Latasha Leann Sims Killed in Kemp Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 175

Kemp, Texas (September 16, 2020) – Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash Saturday night in Kemp, according to authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 11:23 p.m., September 12, in the 13500 block of U.S. Highway 175.

Authorities said Gary L Bogner, 55, of Wills Point, was driving a pickup truck eastbound in the westbound lanes of the highway when he hit a black SUV driven by Latasha Leann Sims, 33, of Gun Barrel City.

Bogner and Sims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Sims was a wife and mother to three children, according to the report.

The crash closed the highway for about two hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
