Whitney Petrick ID’d as Woman Killed in Upshur County Car Crash on SH 300 and FM 726

Upshur County, Texas (April 7, 2019) – Police have identified the driver who was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Thursday morning in Upshur County.
30-year-old Whitney Emmel Petrick, of Diana died in the incident that was reported at about 8 a.m. April 4, on SH 300 and FM 726.
DPS said Petrick was stopped in a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado at FM 726 at SH 300 when she pulled into the intersection and was hit by a 2007 GMC Yukon heading north on SH 300.
Petrick was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The other driver, identified as James Sterling Jones Jr., 29, of Longview, was not hurt.
The DPS is investigating the collision.
