Linda Adams Killed in Culberson County Train-Pedestrian Accident on Union Pacific Railway

Culberson County, Texas (September 17, 2022) – A woman was fatally hit by a train Wednesday morning in Culberson County, according to the authorities.

The deadly accident happened around 6:45 a.m., on September 14, on the Union Pacific Railway, in a remote area about 30 miles east of Van Horn.

Authorities said Linda Mae Adams, 18, was driving on interstate 10 when she ran out of gas about 10 miles away from the crash scene. She abandoned her car along the interstate and began walking eastbound on the Union Pacific Railway. She stepped off the rail line as the train approached but did not clear the front end of the eastbound locomotive and was hit.

Adams was killed in the crash.

No further details were provided.

An investigation is underway.
