Lloyd McMaster Killed in Amarillo Pedestrian Accident at Georgia and I-40; Casey Howard Arrested

Amarillo, Texas (August 28, 2022) – The homeless man who was killed Friday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Amarillo has been identified as Lloyd Gene McMaster,56, according to the police.

The deadly crash happened around 9:30 a.m., August 26, at the intersection of Georgia and Interstate 40.

Police said Casey Curtis Howard, 20, was driving a pickup truck when he drove up onto the median and hit McMaster.

Howard fled the scene after the crash but was arrested about a mile down the road at Western and I-40.

McMaster was killed in the crash.

Howard was charged with an accident involving injury or death.

The police are investigating the crash.
