Luis Cabrera Dead, Two Paramedics Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash at West Davis Street and North Westmoreland Road in Dallas

Luis Cabrera Killed, 2 Paramedics Hospitalized after Dallas Ambulance Crash at West Davis Street and North Westmoreland Road
Dallas, Texas (February 11, 2019) – A 28-year-old man was killed, and two Dallas Fire-Rescue medics were injured in a traffic accident involving an ambulance, early Sunday morning, in Dallas, according to the authorities.
The fatal crash happened at about 3:15 a.m. at West Davis Street and North Westmoreland Road.
Police said an ambulance was heading westbound on West Davis Street, responding to a medical emergency, when a pickup truck which was traveling southbound on North Westmoreland Road, ran a stop light at the intersection and slammed into the ambulance.
The driver of the pickup, Luis Cabrera, and two paramedics in the ambulance had to be extricated from the wreckage. The three were taken to the hospital where Cabrera later died.
One of the paramedics was treated and released, but the other was hospitalized with serious injuries.
The police are investigating the crash.
