Ector County, Texas (March 2, 2021) – Two people were killed, and three others were injured in a head-on collision on Sunday in Ector County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened just after midnight, on February 28, on State Highway 158, six miles west of Gardendale.

DPS said a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound on the highway while a Nissan Versa was traveling westbound.

The Silverado crossed the centerline into the westbound lane and crashed head-on into the Versa.

The driver and passenger of the Versa, Colten Huckaby, 27, of Andrews, and Maicie Oliver, 22, of Midland, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Silverado driver was taken to Medical Center Hospital with severe injuries. Two passengers were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws, or statutes which were violated.
