San Antonio, Texas (January 31, 2022) – A man was critically injured Monday morning in a three-vehicle crash in San Antonio’s South Side, according to the police.

The crash happened just before 5:15 a.m., on New Laredo Highway and Pitluk Avenue, just south of Southwest Military Drive.

Police said a Dodge Ram truck was traveling southbound on New Laredo Highway when it sideswiped a northbound Subaru hatchback.

The Dodge then went into the northbound lane and crashed almost head-on into a big rig.

The Dodge driver, a man in his 40s, had to be extricated from his truck. He was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in critical condition.

The big rig driver sustained minor injuries.

The people in the Subaru were uninjured in the crash.

Weather is not believed to have been a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation
