Rider Critically Injured in East Austin Scooter Accident at Calles and Hidalgo Streets

Austin, Texas (October 7, 2019) – A man in his 40s was critically injured in a scooter accident Sunday afternoon in East Austin, according to officials.

The accident took place just after 2:00 p.m. October 6, in the area of Calles and Hidalgo streets.

Officials said the man was riding an electric scooter when he was hit by a car.

The victim was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with critical and life-threatening injuries.

No further details were provided.    

The crash remains under investigation.
