Man Killed in Galveston Pedestrian Accident on Galveston Causeway near Harborside Drive

Galveston, Texas (October 1, 2020) – A man was fatally hit by a vehicle early Wednesday morning in Galveston, according to the police.

The deadly accident occurred at about 12:20 a.m., September 30, on the Galveston Causeway near the Harborside Drive exit.

Police said the man was walking on the inbound side of the causeway when he was struck by a Jeep Liberty on the bridge.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The Jeep driver was taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch in serious but stable condition. The driver was not intoxicated at the time of the crash.

The police are investigating the crash.
