Man Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45)

Houston, Texas (August 29, 2022) – A male pedestrian died after he was struck by a vehicle Saturday morning in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The deadly crash happened at around 7:20 a.m. Saturday, August 27, in the 10500 block of Gulf Freeway, also known as South Interstate Highway 45 service road.

Houston police said the pedestrian was lying in the road in a U-turn lane from the southbound service of the Gulf Freeway when a white Nissan Frontier pickup truck hit him.

The pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was taken by paramedics to HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake, where he was declared dead.

The pickup truck driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
