Bobby Lee Smith Killed in Tyler County Two-Vehicle Crash at Highway 190 and FM 92

Tyler County, Texas (August 17, 2020) – A man was killed Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash in the Dam B Community, according to DPS.

The fatal crash occurred around 8:30 a.m., August 16, at the intersection of Highway 190 and Farm to Market Road 92.

DPS said Bobby Lee Smith, 20, of Vidor, was driving a 2007 Ford Passenger vehicle northbound on FM 92 when he disregarded the stop sign at the intersection and was struck by an eastbound 2018 Peterbilt truck-tractor semi-trailer.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi-truck driver, 65-year-old John Watson, of Moody, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
