Man Hit, Killed by Vehicle on I-35 in Austin

Man Killed in Austin Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 35

Austin, Texas (May 18, 2021) – According to officials, a man was fatally hit by a vehicle Tuesday morning in downtown Austin, near the University of Texas construction zones.

The deadly accident happened around 6:21 a.m. on the Interstate 35 southbound service road near East Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard.

Officials said a man was walking when he was struck by a vehicle near the construction zones.

The man was killed in the crash. It’s unclear if he was a construction worker.

The victim’s identity has not been released.

The accident closed the Manor Road exit and the on-ramp onto southbound I-35.

An investigation is underway.
