Bobby Knight Jr. ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Austin Crash at Interstate 35 Frontage Road and Rundberg Lane

Austin, Texas (July 13, 2022) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died Tuesday morning following a traffic collision in Austin as Bobby Knight Jr., 34.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the incident occurred at about 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, at the intersection of Interstate 35 Frontage Road and Rundberg Lane.

According to the DPS, troopers were attempting to pull over a Honda Rebel motorcycle that was being driven by Knight on the U.S. Highway 290 Frontage Road. Knight failed to stop, authorities said.

Knight reportedly ran a red light at the intersection of northbound Interstate 35 Frontage Road and Rundberg Lane and collided with a car.

Knight was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. The occupants of the car were transported to Dell Seton Medical Center with a possible injuries.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

An investigation is underway.
