Woman Killed in Travis County Pedestrian Accident on Blue Bluff Road; Juan Diego-Meneses Arrested

Travis County, Texas (June 24, 2022) – A woman died after she was struck last week Monday by a hit-and-run driver in Travis County, according to authorities.

The crash happened at around 1:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, near the 5800 block of Blue Bluff Road.

Authorities said the woman was walking on the road when, for an unknown reason, she was hit by a vehicle.

First responders found the woman’s body in the roadway five hours after the crash. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of her relatives.

The driver of the vehicle involved, Juan Alberto Diego-Meneses, 24, did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene.

On Sunday, Diego-Meneses, who was an unlicensed driver, was eventually arrested and booked at the Travis County Correctional Complex. His bail was set at $100,000.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
