Penelope Jauregui and Hugo Davalos ID’d as Two Killed in El Paso County Car Accident at Horizon and Bowdoin Street
El Paso County, Texas (February 8, 2019) – The two people who were killed late Wednesday night in a traffic accident at an intersection in El Paso County has been identified as Penelope Jauregui, 16, and Hugo Davalos, 30, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
The deadly accident occurred at around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, February 6 at the intersection of Horizon Boulevard and Bowdoin Drive, which is near Horizon City.
Authorities said a Hyundai Veloster was heading southbound on Horizon when its driver failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and hit a Nissan Sentra that was traveling eastbound on Bowdoin Street.
According to a local news source, both the driver of the Hyundai Veloster, Davalos, and the driver of the Nissan Sentra, Jauregui, were killed in the accident.
Students at Eastlake High School told the local news source that their principal announced a student was killed and several other students sustained injuries in the crash.
No further details were immediately provided.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
