Jori Washington Killed in Corsicana Train-Pedestrian Accident near South 15th Street

Corsicana, Texas (May 15, 2022) – A woman was fatally hit by a Union Pacific train Wednesday afternoon in Corsicana, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened on May 11, near South 15th Street.

Police said Jori Washington, 39, was sitting on the train track next to some of her belongings and the train conductor blew his whistle and tried to stop. Washington slowly attempted to get up but the train was not able to stop in time and hit her.

Washington was killed in the crash.

No other information was provided.

An investigation is underway.
