Jack Byron Pierce Injured in Smith County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 31
Smith County, Texas (April 13, 2021) – One person was killed, and another was injured on Saturday in a two-vehicle crash in Smith County, six miles east of Tyler, according to the DPS.
The fatal crash happened on April 10, on State Highway 31.
According to a preliminary investigation, Rhonda Lynn Goodrich, 52, of Shreveport, was driving a 2009 Toyota Venza eastbound on the shoulder of the highway when she tried to make a U-turn, and the Venza was hit by an eastbound 2017 Toyota Tundra.
Goodrich was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Tundra driver, Jack Byron Pierce, 53, of Bullard, was taken to a Tyler hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
