Man Seriously Injured in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 35 near Rittiman Road

San Antonio, Texas (November 3, 2019) – A man was hit by a vehicle Friday night as he was helping a woman with a blown out tire in San Antonio, according to a local news source.

The accident took place on Friday, November 1, on I-35 near Rittiman Road.

Officials said a woman was driving southbound when the tire blowout caused her to move off the main lanes and onto the shoulder.

The driver of an 18-wheeler pulled over to help the woman. As he was helping change her tire, another driver hit both of them.

That driver fled the scene.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was taken to the hospital with head injuries where he was listed in critical condition.

The woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.
