Man Hospitalized After Being Struck by Train at South Presa and Avondale in San Antonio

31-Year-Old Man Injured in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident at South Presa Street and Avondale Avenue

San Antonio, Texas (May 9, 2022) – A man was injured after being struck by a train Sunday morning on the south side of San Antonio, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

The pedestrian accident was reported at around 4:00 a.m. Sunday, May 8, at the intersection of South Presa Street and Avondale Avenue.

The train conductor told authorities that a man was walking on the railroad tracks near the intersection. The conductor attempted to alert the 31-year-old man, but he did not move and was struck.

The train was not moving too fast when it struck the man.

The man was alert and transported to a hospital in stable condition.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
