Man Injured in Fiery Crash on Hwy 62 in Jasper County

Jasper County, Texas – A man was injured Wednesday morning in a fiery crash in southeast Jasper County, according to the authorities.

The crash occurred around 8:00 p.m., on Highway 62, south of Buna.

Authorities said a man was driving a pickup truck northbound when he crossed the centerline and collided with a trailer hauling creosote poles that was being pulled by a Jasper Newton Electric Cooperative work truck.

The man had to be pulled from his pickup truck by people who stopped at the scene. He was airlifted to St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment.

The JNEC employee was not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
