Man Killed in Houston Bicycle Accident on Eastex Freeway

Houston, Texas (October 8, 2021) – A man was killed Thursday night in a bicycle accident in Houston, according to the deputies.

The deadly accident was reported around 11:37 p.m., October 7, in the 11800 block of Eastex Freeway.

Deputies said the man was walking his bike from the west to the east across the southbound lanes when he was struck by a car in the third lane.

A second vehicle attempted to swerve around the man and struck the bicycle. 

The man was then struck by a third vehicle as he was lying in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his name has not been released.

All the drivers remained at the scene after the crash and were not intoxicated.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
