Man Killed in Harris County Hit-and-Run Crash on FM 1960

Harris County, Texas (February 7, 2022) – A man in a wheelchair was killed Monday morning in a hit-and-run accident in north Harris County, according to the deputies.

The deadly accident happened just after 6:00 a.m., in the 800 block of FM 1960.

Deputies said the man was crossing the highway when he was struck by a white car.

The impact threw the victim into the other side of the roadway, where he was struck by two oncoming vehicles.

The white car fled the scene after the accident.

The other two drivers remained at the scene after the accident.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

A short time later, deputies received a call from a person saying her car had been hit. That vehicle matched the car parts left behind at the hit-and-run scene. The driver, a woman, was brought back to the scene, but she claimed that she wasn’t involved in the hit-and-run.

The deputies are investigating the crash.

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, pedestrian and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation
