One Injured in San Angelo Three-Vehicle Crash at University and Johnson

San Angelo, Texas (May 6, 2023) – One person was injured Friday afternoon in a head-on collision in San Angelo, according to the police.

The crash happened on May 5, at the intersection of University and Johnson.

Police said a Dodge Dart passenger car was traveling toward Johnson on University when the driver disregarded the red light and turned left into the path of a gray Dodge Ram 2500 pickup.

The Ram pickup crashed into the Dart, spinning it around and pushing it into the inside lane.

A black Cadillac SUV was traveling southbound on Johnson, and it crashed head-on into the Dart.

The impact sent the Dart into the practice field, where it came to a stop.

The Dart driver was taken to the hospital for treatment. He will be cited for running the red light.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
