Woman Hit, Killed by Truck on US 155 in Big Sandy

Woman Killed in Big Sandy Pedestrian Crash on US Highway 155 near South Mulberry Road

Big Sandy, Texas – A woman was killed on Wednesday after being struck by a truck while helping students board a school bus in Big Sandy, according to the DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 6:30 a.m., December 13, on US State Highway 155 near South Mulberry Road.

DPS said the woman was standing outside with a flashlight helping kids get onto the school bus when the driver of a pickup truck allegedly failed to stop for the bus that had its lights on and stop sign out, and hit her.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

The truck driver is allegedly facing charges and being held in Upshur County Jail.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
