Tulio Canales Killed and Kelvin Rivera Injured in Beaumont Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10 near FM 365

Beaumont, Texas (September 22, 2021) – Two people were killed, and two others were injured Monday night in a two-vehicle crash west of Beaumont, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened just after 8:00 p.m., September 20, on Interstate 10 near FM 365.  

DPS said a 2004 Honda passenger car was traveling westbound when the driver failed to stay in a single lane and veered into the eastbound lane, where he crashed into an eastbound 2019 Dodge passenger van.

The Honda driver, Kelvin Rivera, 28, of Houston, was taken to Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. The passenger, Tulio Funes Canales, 40, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dodge driver, Andresina Borja, 32, of San Antonio, was taken to Baptist Hospital for treatment. The passenger, Timotea Borja, 71, of San Antonio, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
