Man Hospitalized after San Antonio Crash on Guadalupe Street

San Antonio, Texas (May 28, 2022) – A man was seriously injured in an alleged DUI crash in San Antonio on Friday night, according to San Antonio police.

The major-injury wreck occurred at about 11:09 p.m. Friday, May 27, in the 1200 block of Guadalupe Street.

Police said a red 2003 Chevrolet Corvette was speeding westbound on Guadalupe Street when the driver drifted to the left to pass a red 2012 Toyota Carry. In the process, the Corvette sideswiped the Camry.

The driver of the Corvette over-corrected into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Kia Soul. The Kia Soul was redirected westbound, where it collided with an eastbound white 2006 GMC Envoy traveling behind the Kia Soul.

The man driving the Kia Soul sustained major injuries and was taken to a hospital. His name and current condition were not available.

Authorities later found the driver of the corvette was impaired at the time of the accident. The driver was ultimately arrested and booked on suspicion of DUI.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
