Maria Flores Killed in Wichita Falls Two-Vehicle Crash at Loop 11 and Northwest Drive

Wichita Falls, Texas (November 13, 2022) – One person was killed, and three others were injured on Thursday in a two-vehicle crash in Wichita Falls, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened on November 10, at the intersection of Loop 11 and Northwest Drive.

Police said a Cadillac was heading eastbound on Northwest Drive when the driver failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection, and the car was T-boned by a northbound Ford Escape.

The impact pushed the Cadillac into a power pole while the Ford rolled at least one time and came to a rest on its roof.

56-year-old Maria Flores, of Wichita Falls, who was the front-right passenger of the Cadillac, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 2-year-old was also ejected from the Cadillac and was airlifted to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth in critical but stable condition.

The 36-year-old driver of the Cadillac had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to United Regional in critical but stable condition.

The 62-year-old Ford driver was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
