Mariah Jade Flores Arrested in Fatal San Antonio Car Crash on Interstate 10 near I-37

San Antonio, Texas (November 25, 2020) – The woman who was involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a man dead last month in San Antonio has been arrested, according to police.

Mariah Jade Flores, 22, was arrested on November 23.

The fatal crash happened around 7:40 a.m., October 24, on I-10 near the I-37 interchange.

Police said Alex Cesar Reyna, 24, was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe westbound on the interstate when Flores, who was driving a 1997 green Honda SUV, switched lanes to pass him, and the vehicles collided.

The force of the impact caused the Tahoe to hit a large metal sign.

The Honda crashed into a guardrail, and Flores fled the scene. Witnesses at the scene took a picture of her before she left the scene.

Reyna was pronounced dead at the scene. He left behind a pregnant wife and a 7-month-old daughter.

Flores was spotted by an officer at about 3:30 p.m., November 23, and she was driving a stolen car and committing multiple traffic violations. She was arrested and has been charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid.

An investigation is underway.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Alex Cesar Reyna.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons for driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
