Lavaca County, Texas – Three people were killed Sunday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Lavaca County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 8:08 p.m., December 10, on Alt US 90 E on the Navidad River Bridge.

Authorities said a 2022 White Honda Accord was traveling eastbound while a 2018 Ford Explorer was traveling westbound.

The Honda failed to drive in a single lane, crossed the center line, and struck the Ford.

The Ford spun back into the eastbound lane and struck the eastbound guardrail.

The Honda came to rest against the eastbound guardrail facing westbound while the Ford came to rest against the westbound guardrail facing westbound.

The Ford became fully engulfed in flames after the collision.

The Honda driver, Marieli Sanchez, 25, of Victoria, and the Ford driver, David Jones, with passenger Carla Jones, both 62 years old and from Hallettsville, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
