1 Killed in Pedestrian Crash on North Freeway in Houston

One Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on North Freeway 

Houston, Texas (November 21, 2020) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident Thursday morning in Houston, according to police.

The deadly accident happened around 5:20 a.m., November 19, in the 10300 block of North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45.

Police said a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling southbound on the freeway when a tractor-trailer truck in front of it swerved abruptly into another lane. The pickup truck driver saw a female standing in the roadway, and he attempted to swerve to the inner shoulder to avoid her, but the female also ran in the same direction and was struck by the pickup.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

The pickup driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The police are investigating the crash.
