42-Year-Old Man Critically Injured in Dallas Motorcycle Crash on Garland Road

Dallas, Texas (September 20, 2020) – A 42-year-old man was critically injured in a motorcycle crash on Saturday in Dallas, according to police.

The crash happened on September 19, in the 9300 block of Garland Road.

Police said the man was riding a motorcycle eastbound and was part of a private motorcade service, which was assisting in the funeral procession for a security guard who was fatally shot earlier in the week.

A driver in the procession gave the driver of a black Chevrolet Impala a motion to go ahead, and she thought the center and right lanes were clear.

When the Impala went ahead, it was struck by the motorcycle.

The impact ejected the motorcyclist, and he was thrown into a telephone pole and a tree.

The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

An investigation is underway.

We wish the injured victim a quick recovery.

Most motorcycle crashes are caused by negligent drivers who don’t keep a proper lookout or fail to yield the right-of-way. Because motorcyclists are vulnerable, their injuries are usually severe, often suffering from road rash, broken bones, brain injuries, amputations, or spinal cord injuries.
