1 Killed, 1 Injured in Interstate 45 Crash near Wintergreen Road
Wilmer, Texas (April 14, 2019) – A person was killed and another was injured Friday morning in a two-car accident in Wilmer, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The deadly crash took place at about 4:30 a.m. Friday, April 12 on Interstate 45 near Wintergreen Road.
The DPS said a vehicle was heading southbound in the northbound lanes when it crashed into another car.
The force of the impact caused one of the vehicles to flip over onto its side against an 18-wheeler while the second vehicle rolled over and landed upside down. One car involved then burst into flames.
One person was declared dead at the scene. The other driver was airlifted to a local hospital in unknown condition.
The names of the victims have not yet been disclosed.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
