Lisa Ann Vara Killed and Lola Dale Ray Critically Injured in Glen Rose Pedestrian Accident on U.S. Highway 67

Glen Rose, Texas (June 12, 2020) – A woman was critically injured, and her daughter was killed after they were hit by a vehicle on May 18 in Glen Rose, a local news source reported.

The deadly accident happened on U.S. Highway 67 between Hereford Street and Spanish Oak Trail.

DPS said Lola Dale Ray, 56, of Glen Rose, and her daughter Lisa Ann Vara, were crossing Highway 67 from a convenience store back to Glen Rose Inn & Suites, where they were staying when they were struck by an eastbound pickup truck.

Ray and Vara were airlifted to the hospital, where Vara later died.

Ray’s left arm had to be amputated. She was released from the hospital on Tuesday afternoon, June 9.

An investigation is underway.
