Two Injured in Car Crash on I-10 in San Antonio

Two Hospitalized After San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10

San Antonio, Texas (August 15, 2020) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in San Antonio, according to police.

The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m., August 13, on Interstate 10.

Police said an officer was driving on the frontage road of the interstate when he saw a Ford Explorer speeding down the road. As officers attempted to stop the Explorer, the driver ran a red light at the intersection of Wurzbach and I-10 and struck a vehicle that was exiting onto the frontage road from a nearby McDonald’s.

Two men in the Explorer attempted to flee the scene but were caught. One of the men punched an officer severally before being handcuffed. He is facing charges of failing to stop and render aid, assault on a peace officer, and possible DWI.

A woman in the Explorer was also taken into custody.

Another woman in the Explorer and a man in the other vehicle were taken to University Hospital in stable condition.

The crash closed the frontage road for several hours.

The crash remains under investigation.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
