Man Critically Injured in Fort Worth Motorcycle Crash on North Freeway

Fort Worth, Texas (October 16, 2020) – A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash Thursday morning in Fort Worth, according to authorities.

The crash happened just before 10:10 a.m., October 15, in the 14000 block of the North Freeway.

According to a preliminary investigation, a semi-truck went over a metal object, causing the object to fly backward. The object hit a man who was riding a motorcycle behind the truck in the head.

The motorcycle then crashed into the median wall, ejecting the man into the other side of the freeway where he was struck by an oncoming truck.

The man was airlifted to John Peter Smith Hospital with critical injuries.

No further details regarding the crash were provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

We wish the injured victim a quick recovery.

Most motorcycle crashes are caused by negligent drivers who don’t keep a proper lookout or fail to yield the right-of-way. Because motorcyclists are vulnerable, their injuries are usually severe, often suffering from road rash, broken bones, brain injuries, amputations, or spinal cord injuries.
