One Killed in Cypress Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 10 near Taylor Street

Cypress, Texas (October 23, 2022) – According to the police, a motorcyclist was killed Thursday night in a hit-and-run accident in Cypress.

The deadly accident happened around 10:30 p.m., October 20, in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Taylor Street.

Police said an 18-wheeler hit the motorcyclist from the side and knocked the motorcycle over, and it is possible the 18-wheeler driver, who did not stop, may not have known he hit someone.

Another car ran over the motorcycle after the crash, but not the rider.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

The police are searching for the driver of the 18-wheeler.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A.
