Nathan Alexander Ortiz Killed in El Paso Pedestrian Accident on North Loop Drive

El Paso, Texas – A teenager was hit and killed by a car Sunday night in El Paso, according to officials.

The deadly accident happened around 7:00 p.m., December 17, in the 9200 block of North Loop near Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

Officials said Nathan Alexander Ortiz, 16, was crossing the street, outside of a designated crossing point, when he was struck by an eastbound 2016 Nissan Altima driven by 22-year-old Phillip Davis of the Lower Valley. Ruby Maldonado, 24, of El Paso, was a passenger in the car.

Ortiz was taken to Del Sol Medical Center, where he later died.

No additional information was available.

The police are investigating the crash.
