1 Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on SH-249 in NW Harris County

One Killed in NW Harris County Multi-Vehicle Crash on SH-249

Harris County, Texas (October 10, 2021) – One person was killed Saturday night in a wrong-way crash in northwest Harris County, according to the deputies.

The fatal crash happened around 9:45 p.m., October 9, in the 14700 block of SH-249, between Hollister Road and Seton Lake Drive.

Deputies said a Dodge Journey was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the highway when it crashed head-on into a Toyota Matrix.

The driver of a Toyota Tundra tried to avoid the Dodge, but they struck the Matrix.

The Dodge continued heading the wrong way until it crashed into a Honda Accord.

The Matrix driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

The Dodge driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Honda and Tundra drivers were uninjured in the crash.

No other information was provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
