Nicole Burnett Killed and Harry Cogell Injured in Texarkana Two-Vehicle Crash on Summerhill Road

Texarkana, Texas (July 29, 2020) – A woman was killed, and a man was seriously injured in a head-on collision Tuesday morning in Texarkana, according to police.

The fatal crash happened at about 11:00 a.m. in the 4500 block of Summerhill Road.

Police said Nicole Burnett, 24, of Texarkana, Arkansas, was driving a 2012 Ford Focus northbound when she drifted into the southbound lane and crashed head-on into a GMC pickup truck driven by Harry Cogell, 61.

Burnett was declared dead at the scene. 

Cogell was taken to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with any information about the accident is asked to call TTPD at 903-798-3316.
