Officer Hurt in Hit-and-Run Accident on Interstate 45 in Montgomery County

DPS Trooper Injured in Montgomery County Hit-and-Run Crash on Interstate 45 at Texas 242
Montgomery County, Texas (February 15, 2019) – A DPS trooper was injured Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Montgomery County, according to authorities.
The crash took place at an unknown time Wednesday, February 13 at the intersection of Interstate 45 and Texas 242, just outside Conroe.
Authorities said an Infiniti Q35 driven by the trooper pulled over and was approaching another vehicle. The trooper said he saw the driver reach for something in the floorboard.
When the trooper commanded him to stop, the driver sped off. The vehicle ran over the trooper and dragged him some distance before it fled the scene.
The unidentified trooper sustained a knee and possible back injuries and was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
As of 2:00 a.m. the driver involved in the crash was located and arrested. He was transported to Montgomery County Jail for unspecified charges.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
