Officer Injured in DWI Crash on Broadway in Galveston; Marie Dennis Arrested

Officer Injured in Galveston Two-Vehicle Crash on Broadway; Marie Dennis Arrested

Galveston, Texas (April 11, 2022) – A police officer was injured Saturday night in a DWI crash in Galveston, according to the police.

The crash happened around 10:30 p.m., April 9, on Broadway.

Police said a Galveston police cruiser was parked, and the officer was aiding a broken-down car on the roadside when Marie Dennis, 36, crashed into the police cruiser.

The officer was inside the cruiser at the time of the crash and sustained a minor head injury. They were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.

Dennis was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest. She was taken to the hospital before being taken to jail.

The crash remains under investigation.
