Police Officer Injured in Beaumont Two-Vehicle Crash on McLean

Beaumont, Texas (July 4, 2019) – An officer was injured in a head-on collision early Wednesday morning in Beaumont, according to the authorities.

The crash occurred at about 3:00 a.m. July 3, in the 9200 block of McLean.

BPD received calls about a large party and possible shots fired. Several vehicles were fleeing the area.

A 2018 Yellow Dodge Charger crashed head-on into one of the responding officers. The driver was attempting to pass several vehicles in his lane when he struck the officer’s vehicle.

The suspect got out of the Charger and fled.

The officer was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Officers are looking for the suspect. He may have visible injuries.
