Richard Reeves Seriously Injured in Truck Crash on I-30 in Bowie County

Richard Reeves Seriously Injured in Bowie County Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 30 near FM 2253

Bowie County, Texas (June 4, 2021) – According to the DPS, a man was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Bowie County.

The crash happened around 2:40 p.m., June 2, on Interstate 30, just west of Farm to Market 2253.

DPS said a 2012 Volvo truck that was pulling a trailer was traveling eastbound on the interstate while a 2005 Dodge Caravan was also traveling eastbound behind the Volvo.

The Caravan driver, Richard Reeves, 57, of Hooks, failed to control his speed and rear-ended the trailer that was being towed by the Volvo.

Reeves was airlifted to a Texarkana hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Volvo driver was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
