One Injured in Truck Crash on Interstate 27 in Lubbock

One Injured in Lubbock Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 27 near Abernathy

Lubbock, Texas (July 3, 2020) – One person was injured Wednesday night in a two-vehicle crash in Lubbock, according to DPS.

The crash happened on July 1, on Interstate 27 near mile-marker 19, south of Abernathy.

DPS said a Ryder truck tractor and a US postal truck tractor semi-trailer were heading northbound on the interstate. The driver of the Ryder truck then failed to control their speed and struck the postal truck.

One person had to be extricated by firefighters from the wreckage.

The driver of the Ryder truck sustained a broken ankle in the crash.

No other details regarding the crash were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
